An interdisciplinary team dedicated to preserving memory

Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and at the Institute of Mathematical and Computational Engineering at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. She is also a researcher at the IMFD, AC3E, and iHealth centers. Her work encompasses two main areas: the analysis, driven by artificial intelligence, of historical archives in the field of human rights and transitional justice; and clinical natural language processing in Spanish. In both areas, she leads transdisciplinary projects—which involve human participants and preserve privacy—situated at the intersection of academic research and public policy.

Ph.D. in Sociology (University of Oxford) and J.D. (University of Salamanca). His work lies at the intersection of human rights, transitional justice, archives, and state violence in Latin America. He is a faculty member at the Catholic University of Uruguay, Alberto Hurtado University, and the VioDemos Millennium Institute. He is a research associate at the Ibero-American Observatory on Criminal Justice at the University of Salamanca and editor of the Catholic University of Uruguay Law Review.

Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences (Technical University of Berlin). Faculty member in the Department of Computer Science at the Catholic University of Chile and researcher at the Millennium Institute for Data Foundations. Expert in computer vision, image restoration, and facial recognition in low-quality images—key to analyzing documents and photographs from historical archives.

He holds a Ph.D. in History and a Master’s degree in History from the University of Santiago de Chile, and a degree in Sociology from the University of Chile. He specializes in contemporary history, memory, heritage, archives, and human rights. He served as Coordinator of the Memory and Human Rights Unit at the National Monuments Council (2015–2022). He has taught and conducted research at universities and institutions both in Chile and abroad. He is currently part of the NuestramemorIA project as a postdoctoral researcher at Alberto Hurtado University.

Sociologist (Alberto Hurtado University) and Master’s degree in Social Research Methods (Diego Portales University). Researcher specializing in human rights, social memory, and representations of the recent past in Chile, with a focus on museums, sites, and archives from the period of the dictatorship.

Ph.D. in Computer Science (University of Edinburgh). Director of the Millennium Institute for Data Fundamentals and associate professor in the Department of Computer Science at the Catholic University of Chile. Specialist in data management, the Web, and graph databases.

He holds a degree in Electrical Civil Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. He has specialized in machine learning and signal processing, creating artificial intelligence architectures for the analysis of complex unstructured data, and developing advanced information retrieval systems (RAG) and tools based on large language models (LLMs) for structuring large-scale databases.

Journalist and holder of a bachelor’s degree in Social Communication from the University of Santiago de Chile. Specialist in organizational, scientific, and data science communication. Her work focuses on the management, strategic planning, and dissemination of institutional content, integrating innovation, science, education, and the social appropriation of knowledge across disciplines.
